Anonymous asked: Explain to me what’s racist about removing the Civil Rights Act. How does that make Ron Paul racist?

sinidentidades:

Oh, my god.

Listen, it’s racist to abolish the Civil Rights Act because before that any business owner could just throw out a person of color for being a person of color. If that person of color refused to leave, they could contact the authorities and have them arrested. Ron Paul values property [his version of liberty] more than he does people.

If you reply to this answer with, “but the free market would fix that because people wouldn’t go to that business”:

Those that hold the most capital would decide if that business thrives, which, presently, are white people. White people, like before the Civil Rights Act, and the ones now, are still not that great on the whole anti-racist front, so I doubt the ~free market~ would actually take care of racist businesses. Also, Paul’s argument that the ~free market~ would have ended slavery in the United States is also flawed. Slavery is great for capitalism. You basically have access to the cheapest labor possible, which is great for business.
